This is something you might have got lighting up your dashboard, after installing high flow downpipe or a new catalytic converter from spare parts market.
Vehicles on-board diagnostic monitor the status of Catalytic converter in real time, and in case the flow or efficiency of this unit has changed – it will do as it’s programmed to do and inform the driver with catalytic converter check engine light.
Simple mechanical fix can be done with a Pro-Sport O2 spacer, that includes a miniature catalytic converter inside it. This is enough to correct the measurement enough to keep the systems happy.
- Standard M18x1.5 thread for common O2 sensors
- Available in direct and 90-degree angle
- Avoid check engine light from catalytic converter
- Choose type of the spacer depending on the clearance around your O2 sensor
- Remember that sensitivity of the system varies by car, 100% efficiency cannot be guaranteed.
