DSG Transmission and Torque Capacity – The Basics
Proper professional software control for DSG transmissions is the first thing to address when factory settings need improvement. This enhances shift speed, shift timing, heat management for the transmission and clutch, and with higher clutch pressures and more precise shifting, also increases torque capacity. With just these adjustments, this transmission type can handle up to 700 Nm, but eventually, limits are reached. The kit is engineered to withstand 800 Nm of torque, though transmission software settings also play a big role in determining torque capacity.
The clutch kit is a complete set, ready for installation, and includes an optimized clutch basket with calibrated components. Simply replace the original part with this set and carry out the necessary DSG software optimization. To extend the life of your new clutch, we recommend pairing it with an efficient DSG oil cooler.
TVS Engineering’s transmission software, or similar, also helps to keep your new clutch cool and safely manage overall gearbox temperatures.
