The end product is an optimized open-airbox design that works with the factory fresh air duct to guide cool air straight to the filter. It features a large airbox that houses a massive 4″ inlet conical air filter, designed for maximum airflow. Air is then funneled through a CFD-optimized, 4-ply silicone inlet hose that ensures a smooth increase in air velocity heading to the throttle body.

A key part of a high-performance intake is making sure the air can flow freely around and into the filter. If the air is blocked from reaching the filter, the whole system is compromised. Some aftermarket kits try to pack oversized filters into enclosures that are just too small, which ends up restricting airflow and hurting performance.

034Motorsport put their design through rigorous testing to make sure the air can move smoothly around and through the filter, without any blockages. The result? A perfectly sized filter housed in an enclosure that’s just the right size, giving you the best possible airflow and performance, while still keeping OEM-level filtration. When shopping for an intake, don’t get too caught up in filter size alone—if the filter is too big for its housing, it’s going to be more of a hindrance than a help.

MAXIMIZING AIRFLOW

The engineers at 034Motorsport developed a high-performance 4-ply silicone intake tube, specifically designed to replace the restrictive plastic factory hose with its accordion-style sound deadening. Using advanced CAD software and 3D scanning, they optimized the shape and size of the intake tube to make the most of the available space under the hood. PERFORMANCE AIR FILTER

The S34 Carbon Fiber Intake comes equipped with a high-flow conical air filter featuring a double-layer pleated cotton filtration medium that can capture particles as small as 5 microns. This design increases airflow with its larger filtration surface while still providing top-tier filtration quality. In fact, 034Motorsport has tested this air filter in setups over 800HP with minimal restrictions, all while maintaining superior OEM-level filtration.

Unlike many intake kits that leave the air filter unsupported and prone to “flopping” around, 034Motorsport engineers created a smart filter support system. This not only keeps the filter stable but also allows for some flexibility to handle engine movement during varying loads. Plus, the added air shroud ensures it stays in place and doesn’t rub against other engine components, a common issue with many other designs on the market.

PRESSURE DROP IMPROVEMENTS

Pressure Drop is the difference in ambient air pressure and the air pressure measured at the supercharger inlet across the engine’s rpm range. The higher the pressure drop at any given rpm, the more restrictive the intake system is, reducing airflow.

CFM GAINS:

CFM stands for “cubic feet per minute” of airflow. The higher the number, the higher the horsepower an intake can support. At 034Motorsport, we design our intakes to have substantial flow increases over the factory intake. We test all our intakes at 28″ of water (how much vacuum is used to suck air through the intake) on a Superflow airflow bench, which gives us very accurate and repeatable test results.
