In BMW turbo engine, like in all turbo engines the intake air temperature is absolutely significant. With every degree up or down, you will lose or gain that previous horsepower. Hot air is less dense and oxygen rich by nature (resulting in less power output), but in addition to that your Engine Control Unit will actively limit the engine power whenever the IAT shows any signs of rising.

Therefore a high performance intercooler is always a beneficial upgrade, even in stock engine.

VRSF intercoolers are designed specifically for each BMW model and engine to offer an efficient solution.

BMW M5 and M6 with S63 engine

This heat exchanger kit offers a superior cooling capacity compared to the OEM cores. In S63 the charge cooling is done via water-to-air cooling system, for minimal turbo lag and efficiency. In a system like this, the ways to improve cooling capacity include replacing the smaller heat exchanger core on top of the engine, or the main core behind front bumper. Whatever gets that heat off from charge air, will improve your engines output and lower the sensitivity for knocking and detonation.

Installation

All needed accessories are included, to make installation possible even in home garage if you will. Normal tools and equipment with some extra time should be enough.

This kit doesn’t need modifications for bumper or structures.

Depending on your trim level and model, it’s always good to be prepared for some minor trimming or honing for that perfect fitment.
